Before
The space had strong potential, but it needed a clearer visual direction. The aim was not to fill the room, but to refine the way the space was read, used, and experienced.
The Design Perspective
It was about creating a clean, open, and minimal interior with the quiet restraint of an art gallery.
The space was not meant to feel filled. It was meant to breathe. Each decor object was selected to hold its own presence, almost like a piece of art, while the oversized artworks brought scale, balance, and visual impact.

The result is an interior that feels calm, curated, and considered. A space shaped through restraint, proportion, and focused design choices.

‘The Advisor Experience’
Coastaway, Jacobs Bay
A broader look at connected choices across the design process.
Before
Coastaway was a compact coastal Airbnb in Jacobs Bay, created for clients abroad who needed guidance they could trust from a distance.
The project was a new build, with a small footprint that required careful spatial design, custom-made furniture, custom fittings, furnishing, and styling. It was not about placing furniture into a finished shell. It was about shaping the full interior direction so every choice worked together.
The Design Perspective
The client’s starting point was a relaxed coastal feeling: light interiors, timber warmth, natural textures, blue accents, and easy holiday living.
The Plan
The design direction became contemporary coastal, softened with natural boho textures, custom details, and relaxed Airbnb living.
The goal was to create a beautiful, cosy, and relaxed getaway, a space that felt calm, considered, and easy to settle into.
Because the space was compact, every decision had to work harder. The furniture needed to be custom made. The fittings and interiors needed to be designed with intention. The palette, materials, furniture, lighting, styling, and small details all had to support the same feeling.
With the clients living abroad, the project required trust, clarity, and ongoing design guidance from concept through to the final interior.
After
The result is a coastal Airbnb that feels warm, relaxed, and thoughtfully resolved. A small space shaped through connected choices, custom design, and ongoing guidance.
